Tom Spaulding

Tom Spaulding grew up in the tattoo business. His father, Huck Spaulding, was a pioneer in the tattoo industry. Tom got his start hanging out in his dad’s tattoo studio and working for Spaulding & Rogers as a teenager building tattoo machines. 

He started his apprenticeship in 1974 and did his first tattoo in 1975. He opened his first professional tattoo studio on Central Avenue, Albany in 1977. Along with his wife, Mary, he has built a business that has stood the test of time. You can still find Tom at the studio almost every day, but after 45 years, he has retired from tattooing.
